Apple Puff Pies Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack of puff-pastry (frozen, 17 oz)
2 PCs of apples (sweet, medium-sized)
2 Tbs of flour
1/3 c of sugar (brown); packed firmly
1 tsp of lemon zest; grated
1 tsp of fresh juice (lemon)
1 tsp of cinnamon (ground)
1/2 tsp of nutmeg; grated fresh
1 PC of egg (large); beaten lightly
Instructions:
Preheat the oven (375 degrees F). Next, thaw the puff-pastry as stated in package instructions. Peel, core then chop the apples coarsely so it measures two cups. Toss the apples w/ flour, sugar, juice and zest of lemon, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Cut every pastry-sheet to nine 3 inch squares on a lightly-floured board. Place 1/4 c of apple mix in middle of every square then brush the edges w/ egg beaten earlier. Top every pastry w/ 2nd square.
Then, press the edges w/ fork. With sharp knife, create 1″ L-shape into middle of every square and fold flaps back. Place onto un greased thin cookie-sheet then brush w/ egg. To finish, bake for 20 mains ’till golden browned.
